Contraindications No EMS training with
• acute illness (fever, flu, cold, cough, bacterial or viral infections….)
• epilepsy and other (severe) neurological diseases
• pacemaker and other active implants
• endoprostheses (relative contraindication – clarify with a doctor beforehand)
• severe circulatory disorders and/or thromboses, stenoses
• abdominal wall and inguinal hernias
• tuberculosis
• tumor disease
• bleeding, strong bleeding tendency, hemophilia
• skin injuries in the area of the electrodes
• medications or diseases affecting nerve and muscle metabolism
• pregnancy
• IUD (copper)
• elevated creatine kinase levels (e.g., with impaired kidney function)
• alcohol consumption
• heart failure, unstable angina pectoris, or myocardial infarction
• acute respiratory insufficiency
